Just came back from Paul Miller's Memorial. I found his memorial is not an end of my understanding of him; actually it's a new start to know him better.

 

People went to the stage to share with others their stories with Paul. Every people was deeply impressed when first met him. He was such a great guy. Some many words fit him: humorous, passionate, ready to help, knowledgeable, good at langugaes, bridge between China and West... Just like Grace mentioned: he was perfect to us!

 

He was the most humorous person I ever knew. When he was alive, he brought us so much laughter. The first time I met him, he told us joke after joke, in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. He was really a genius. what a regret I fogot his jokes. Otherwise I would like to share with others tonight. Magically, he still brought us so much laughter even after he left us. At the memorial, when we saw his vedio and funny pictures, and heard the interesting stories of Paul from all the friends, all of us couldn't help laughing. This is the best way to remember him.

 

I like Erik's words-"the best way to remember Paul is to carry his torch. Carry his spirit. Learn to give, to know our friends better, to share with them."  I didn't say anything cause I didn't know him much. I respect him, admire him.  I enjoyed others' stories with him, which made me know him better. This reminds me that I should get to know my friends better cause I don't want to regret again.

 

Those peaceful songs make my mind rest. I've been thinkiing and worrying about death these days. This is the first time I heard live hymns. I suddenly understand why people go to church. Although I am not a Christian, I'd like to say to Paul: I hope " God Be With You Until We Meet Again."
